Mommy Got Busted

Those two quotes are totally my life. For those of you who don't know, I am married and have two daughters. My oldest is 6 1/2 and my youngest is 10 months.

My husband is pretty tolerant of my Twilight addict... He has his days where he says " I wish Robert Pattinson would just come kidnap you." Me, too! My friends know that I like Twilight and they go see the movies with me... I have one friend who would is just as obsessed as me. That's about it!

Well, this mommy got outted by her daughter. This is how it went down

My daughter and I had to wait for her medicine to be filled so we decided to bum around until it was ready. My sweet says" Mommy, I want a new Justin Bieber poster." So we buggy on over to the poster isle which is NEVER full of people, but is today. As we are flipping through the poster she sees an Edward Cullen poster. As soon as she sees it she SCREAMS and I mean screams "Mommy, they have an Edward poster for you!" "You can even kiss it every night before you go to bed." OH. MY. GOD. What was I going to say? The best I could come up with was " Sweetie, you're so funny." "Mommy doesn't like Edward." Here comes where I get busted. Sweetie says, " Yes, you do!" "You told daddy he was going to be your husband one day and to watch out."

Needless to say I bolted!

Have your kids ever played you? Please tell us! I cannot be the only one!

Bella Italia's Mushroom Ravioli Shipped To Your Home!

When I visitied Foooooooorks last October with the Twitards, MandysMind and I stopped off on the way at Bella Italia in Port Angeles.

As I'm sure you all know, this was the location Stephenie Meyer set Edward and Bella's first date.

As a result, the restaurant has become a favourite for Twilight devotees and Bella's order of mushroom ravioli a fan favourite.

Now, you can order the dish from the comfort of your very own home via the Bella Italia website!

Although I didn't order this ravioli (as I'm gluten intolerant) I did have a super scrummy mushroom risotto (close enough) with bruschetta and a raspberry-ice-float :) I definitely recommending eating here!

Stevie Nicks - Yup, from Fleetwood Mac - Writes New Moon Inspired Song... Mind. Blown.

Crazy and Cool just got that much better!
Rock ‘n Roll’s reigning queen Stevie Nicks will be releasing her highly anticipated new CD “In Your Dreams” on May 3rd, it was announced today by Reprise Records. This will be Nicks’ first CD of new material since the release of her Grammy nominated “Trouble in Shangri-La” ten years ago. “In Your Dreams” was written and recorded at Nicks’ Los Angeles home and is co-produced by Dave Stewart and Glen Ballard. Nicks and Stewart co-wrote seven of the album’s thirteen songs.

I had written a song in Brisbane, Australia when I was on tour with Fleetwood Mac in 2009 called ‘Moonlight — A Vampire’s Dream’ which was inspired by the ‘New Moon’ film. When I finished writing that song, which came together really quickly, I knew the time was right to start recording. We had a core group of five people who were at the heart of the creation of ‘In Your Dreams.’ Dave and myself, my longtime friend and musical director, Waddy Wachtel, and my girls, Sharon Celani and Lori Nicks. It was a perfect blend,” commented Nicks.

I'm hoping Stevie is reading The Host - her songs for that would be incredible!

There are goals for every book, you or/and your team can decide the goals, our goals for example are: Twilight Phase, eat an apple everyday. New Moon phase: Cut back those calories to 1200, "suffer" along with Bella. Eclipse Phase: get in 1 hour of activity a day to train with the Cullens. Finally, A "Dress Up KStew" That Works :)

Always loved this outfit... prefer these shoes though ;)

I really shouldn't be as amused by this as I am but these "dress up Kristen" things have been cropping up for ages and I can never get one to work!

However, over at SweetyGame I've been letting my inner KStew style run wild - there goes my night!

P.s. Anyone remember where the dark red dress was from?

New/Old Story From Stephenie Meyer - Merry Christmas!

Thanks to @KimC333 who linked this Christmas story "Hero At The Grocery Store" that Stephenie published in the Ensign (an LDS Church Magazine) before Twilight was "Twilight" back in 2006!

I've certainly not seen it before - enjoy:

Suddenly everyone was quiet. Even my rowdy children paused, feeling the change in the atmosphere.

Christmas stories happen in the most everyday places. I was part of one not long ago at the grocery store. I hope I never forget it, though the memory is bittersweet.

I had been shopping for almost an hour by the time I got to the checkout lines. My two youngest sons were with me, the four-year-old refusing to hold onto the cart, the two-year-old trying to climb out of the basket and jump down to play with his brother. Both got progressively whinier and louder as I tried to keep them under control, so I was looking for the fastest lane possible. I had two choices. In the first line were three customers, and they all had just a few purchases. In the second line was only one man, a harried young father with his own crying baby, but his cart was overflowing with groceries.

I quickly looked over the three-person line again. The woman in the front was very elderly, white haired and rail thin, and her hands were shaking as she tried unsuccessfully to unlatch her big purse. In the other line, the young father was throwing his food onto the conveyor belt with superhuman speed. I got in line behind him.

It was the right choice. I was able to start unloading my groceries before the elderly woman was even finished paying. My four-year-old was pulling candy from the shelf, and my little one was trying to help by lobbing cans of soup at me. I felt I couldn’t get out of the store fast enough.

And then, over the sound of the store’s cheery holiday music, I heard the checker in the other line talking loudly, too loudly. I glanced over as my hands kept working.

“No, I’m sorry,” the checker was almost shouting at the old woman, who didn’t seem to understand. “That card won’t work. You are past your limit. Do you have another way to pay?” The tiny old woman blinked at the checker with a confused expression. Not only were her hands shaking now, but her shoulders too. The teenage bagger rolled her eyes and sighed.

As I caught a soup can just before it hit my face, I thought to myself: “Boy, did I choose the right line! Those three are going to be there forever.” My mood was positively smug as my checker began scanning my food.

But the smiling woman directly in line behind the elderly lady had a different reaction. Quietly, with no fanfare, she moved to the older woman’s side and ran her own credit card through the reader.

“Merry Christmas,” she said softly, still smiling.

And then everyone was quiet. Even my rowdy children paused, feeling the change in the atmosphere.

It took a minute for the older woman to understand what had happened. The checker, her face thoughtful, hesitated with the receipt in her hand, not sure whom to give it to. The smiling woman took it and tucked it into the elderly woman’s bag.

“I can’t accept …” the older woman began to protest, with tears forming in her eyes.

The smiling woman interrupted her. “I can afford to do it. What I can’t afford is not to do it.”

“Let me help you out,” the suddenly respectful bagger insisted, taking the basket and also taking the old woman’s arm, the way she might have helped her own grandmother.

I watched the checker in my line pause before she pressed the total key to dab at the corner of her eyes with a tissue.

Paying for my groceries and gathering my children, I made it out of the store before the smiling woman. I had made the right choice of lanes, it seemed.

But as I walked out into the bright December sunshine, I was not thinking about my luck but about what I could not afford.

I could not afford my current, self-absorbed frame of mind.

I could not afford to have my children learn lessons of compassion only from strangers.

I could not afford to be so distant from the spirit of Christ at any time of the year—especially during this great season of giving.

I could not afford to let another stranger, another brother or sister, cross my path in need of help without doing something about it.

And that is why I hope never to forget the Christmas hero in the grocery store. The next time I have a chance to be that kind of a hero, I can’t afford to miss it.

Merry Christmas to all...

Happy Robidays, TwiCrackers :)

Now this is the kind of tree, I'd like to undress - er, I mean dress ;)

Thanks to Bleriana for sending us a nice little Christmas package - needless to say, this is the only one I can post without raising some eye-brows *cough*andotherthings*cough*

Someone please tell me you put a sparkly Edward on top of your Christmas tree!

Wishing all you TwiCrackers the happiest of Robidays!!!

Lots of love,

- Lorabell xxx

P.s. Just saw this one from Danielle - loving your photoshop work ;)

Happy Twi-iversary, TwiCrackers!

I really mean it :)

Remember two years ago when the Twilight movie had only just come out, that Ron Pattison guy wasn't really that hot and you'd never heard of whoever-the-Hale that gal is who (doesn't have brown eyes) plays Bella?

You rushed home from the movie and Googled (just like Edward) your new personal brand of heroine and found... us :) You could say... we found each other *tear*

Oh, fellow TwiCrackers - today marks the day when Mrs TCA created the little blog we've all come to know and love - 730 days, 12257411 visits and countless friends and fun times later, here we are - on the (really prolonged) brink of Breaking Dawn :)

We've obsessively compared the Twilight book to the film, squeed when New Moon got the green light, freaked when they almost replaced Taylor, judged new casting decisions, tried (and failed) not to click on spoilers, waited at midnight releases, bought too much merch we won't admit to, met up at Brit-pack gigs and set locations, traveled to Forks!

Summer 2009, I joined Mrs TCA to help bring the growing mass of Twi-news to our bloggy family - we've posted HQ Rob jawesomeness, gif hilarity, premiere live-streams, photoshoot heaven, really bad Twi-tatts and spoilers galooore!

We've made bloggy and RL buds with too many sites to mention (seriously - I just tried to type out a list, concluded it was impossible and deleted) and love reading each and every single one of your comments :)

It's been an amazing couple of years and we're thrilled you still get your fix of TwiCrack with us...

*PUFFY HEARTS*

The Best Christmas Tree That Ever Was!

That is some serious detail - nearly all of those are home-made and what aren't consist of rainbow dazzling mirror balls - amaze!

Now, I'm not saying it would be even better with an Edward topper, but I could be persuaded ;)

All it needs now is a bear-skin rugWard beneath it...

A Twilight Virgin's (Super Funny) Guide to the Saga

Aw, remember the first time you found Twilight? You read the books without sleeping and watched the movie over and over?

*sigh*

Good times :)

Well, Gaby over at MovieFone has NEVER read or watched ANY of the Twilight saga... EV-VER!
This decision to avoid the series has been on purpose. My mother is a huge 'Twi-hard,' as fans of the books and movies call themselves; she even referred to her love of 'Twilight' in a speech she gave to 800 people at our synagogue this year.
My little sister, who hates reading like a vegan hates cheesecake, devoured the books and has a Robert Pattinson/Kristen Stewart poster on her door.
However...
The thing is, 'Twilight' is maddeningly intriguing. The fan base is so devoted and rabidthat it makes me wonder why. My mother is a smart, college-educated lawyer -- not some gullible, love-starved housewife or tween I'd assumed this series was written for. If she likes 'Twilight,' the series must have merit, right?

Hence, this project was born. I, Gaby Dunn, once a complete 'Twilight' virgin, am going to watch the three films in the franchise so far -- 'Twilight,' 'New Moon' and'Eclipse' -- in honor of the 'Eclipse' DVD release on December 4.
Now, before Gaby joins us on the dark side, she posted:
"10 thinks I think I know about Twilight"

1. There's a family of vampires.
They're all pretty and high-school aged. They somehow continue to repeat the same grade and never age but no one notices.

2. A new girl, Bella, moves to town.
She's also pretty, but she's really plain. Then, she meets Edward and they fall in love, but he's all, "We can't be together!" and she doesn't know why. He can also smell her blood. I think.

3. She figures out he's a vampire pretty easily.
And instead of running the other way, she is super into it.

4. Everyone's real pale.
I don't know if this is ever addressed, but in every still from the movies, it looks like the characters are being propped up 'Weekend at Bernie's'-style. Even the characters that aren't vampires are super-white. Is this like 'Lost'? Is the twist that they've all been dead the whole time?

5. There's a character named Jacob.
Oh my god, it is like 'Lost'! Only this Jacob is a werewolf or I guess, a shape-shifter if you want to get technical. He also loves Bella but then ends up being a pedophile. I'm not sure what plot point this is mocking, but I've heard people say it and I can't wait to find out.

6. Dakota Fanning is in it.
She's a bad guy with red eyes. Like a creepy 'Omen' child or something. I think maybe she leads the bad guys.

7. One redheaded actress got replaced with another.
Bryce Dallas Howard now plays some part that another girl used to play. I don't think it was an important role, though, since I don't know her character's name; but the switch was apparently controversial.

8. Edward does a lot of crazy stuff like take the engine out of Bella's car and make her jump off a cliff.
I think this is all in the name of love, for some insane reason.

9. Sex is a weird thing.
I think one or more characters were raped in the past. Bella really wants to sleep with Edward but he's afraid of hurting her. Like in every horror film ever, I'm guessing the slutty characters always die. I'm already running out of things I know.

10. Oh, wait! Can Bella read minds?
No, that's 'True Blood.' Um. But there's a part with mind-reading, right? Is it Edward that can read minds? Oh boy, looks like I know even less than I thought I did.
Now Gaby's watched the movie, what does she think? Go over to MovieFone to find out and stay posted for her reactions to New Moon aaannnd... Eclipse!

"Sinful" Eclipse Advent Calendar Banned in UK?!

A couple of weeks ago, my sister sent me photos of this Eclipse advent calendar she found back home in the UK, which I then made her buy another one of to send to me in the post - natch ;)

However, I did not know that there's been an apparent uproar (making Jacob proud) in British stores about the calendar and its offense to Christmas!

Metro reports:
Christian Voice says mixing religion with the cult vampire series is ‘deeply offensive’ to Christians.
‘It’s sickening to see the message of Jesus Christ being hijacked to peddle a brand like Twilight, which to all intents and purposes proclaims an anti-religious cult,’ said Stephen Green, national director of the group.
‘Twilight may be fiction, but it is dangerous to mix-up such a story in the minds of impressionable children with that of the Nativity.’
The Twilight Eclipse calendar features a picture of actress Kristen Stewart, and her two rivals in love – Edward the vampire, played by Robert Pattinson, and Jacob the werewolf, portrayed by Taylor Lautner.
Tesco apologised if anyone was offended but said it always gives customers a choice, adding: ‘Twilight is a very popular brand and we aim to provide the types of products our customers would like to buy.’

Since when did fiction like Twilight become more offensive than The Simpsons whose calendars I see every year?

Yes, Twilight is about vampires which the Church may deem to be un-holy, but I don't think they're so stoked about Homer's anti-Flanders ways either.

Now go eat some chocolate and everything will feel a lot better :)
