Rob's massage therapist - I missed that career day!

Mmm, spa hair!

I spied this over at ROBsessed who make the valid point that the sources are The National Ledger and US Weekly... sooo, yeah:

Us Weekly Magazine has an item in their 'Hot Stuff' section this week that may shed some light on the sparkly on-screen vampire that so many girls love.

Robert Pattinson - New Moon and Twilight Star's Secret Spa Trips!
The magazine has this item: "This vampire likes to get pampered. A source tells Hot Stuff that Robert Pattinson, who’s in Vancouver filming Eclipse — the third movie in the Twilight saga — frequents the posh Vida Wellness Spa at Sutton Place Hotel."

"Rob had an hour-long back massage the other day,” the source tells Us, adding that the entire cast often pops in, except for Kristen Stewart, 19, who has not visited since filming New Moon in the spring. When Pattinson, 23, arrived for his most recent treatment (one hour massages start at $120), he used an alias, was “super-quiet” and, despite bodyguards, tried to remain inconspicuous in a hoodie.

The magazine adds the source says the star has more security than he did a few months ago and his plan seemed to work. Says the insider: Pattinson’s masseuse “didn’t know who he was but thought he had a ‘star quality'.

Old Missing Twilight Scene from Stephenie

Update: Sorry for the confusion - apparently this may have been on Stephenie's MySpace before she deleted it, but I only came across the Lex's previous post today. For those who haven't read it before, enjoy!

I agree with Calliope Blabs and am now convinced Stephenie writes fanfic!

The next morning, we went to the casino. Natural light never came close to touching the gaming floor, so it was very easy. Edward told me it was generally expected for them to go lose some money in the hotel—a suite like ours was reserved for that special class of visitor known as high rollers.

As they walked—and I rolled in my wheelchair—through the acres of elegantly decorated casino floor, three times Alice paused at a particular slot machine and slid a card through the scanner. Each time she did this, sirens would blare, lights would revolve, and an electronic simulation of coins dropping indicated that her prize had been credited to her room. She tried to get me to do it once, but I skeptically shook my head.

"I thought you were supposed to lose money," I accused her.

"Oh, I will," she assured me. "But not until I make them sweat a little." Her smile was sinful.

We reached a more lavishly decorated division of the huge casino, where there were no slot machines or casually dressed tourists with plastic cups full of change. Plush chairs replaced the swiveling bar stools, and the voices were quiet, serious. But we continued still further, through a set of ornate gold doors into another room, a private room, more opulent yet. Finally I understood why Alice had insisted on the raw silk, emerald green wrap around dress she’d tied on me today, why she was wearing a long, white satin sarong—with a short lace top that bared her flat, white stomach—and why Edward was overwhelming and irresistible in another light silk suit. The players in this room were all dressed with an exclusive splendor whose expense was far beyond my imagining. A few of the impeccable older men even had young women in glittering, strapless gowns standing behind their chairs, just like in the movies. I pitied the beautiful women as their eyes swept over Alice and Edward, realizing their own deficiencies as they measured the first, and the deficiencies of their partners as they ogled the second. I was the enigma, and their eyes slid away from me unsatisfied.

Alice glided off toward the long roulette tables, and I cringed as I thought of the havoc she would wreak.

"You do know how to play black jack, of course," Edward bent forward to murmur in my ear.

"Are you kidding?" I felt the color drain from my face.

"Knowing your luck, I couldn’t lose any more thoroughly than by letting you play," he chuckled. He wheeled me toward a table with three empty chairs. The two immaculately dressed, exceptionally dignified Asian men glanced up in disbelief as Edward lifted me gently into one of the empty velvet chairs, and took the seat next to me. The delicate oriental beauty who stood at the end of the table watched with insulting incredulity as Edward caressed my hair possessively.

"Only use one hand," he breathed almost silently in my ear. "And keep your cards over the table."

Edward spoke a quiet word to the dealer, and two impressive stacks of dark blue chips appeared on the table in front of us. They had no numbers—and I didn’t want to know anyway. Edward pushed a small stack of his forward, and a larger stack of mine. I glared at Edward in embarrassed panic, but he just smiled impishly as the dealer dealt the cards swiftly around. I picked up my cards carefully with one hand, holding them rigidly above the table. I had two nines. Edward held his cards loosely; I could see he had a five and a seven. I glanced guardedly at the two gentlemen next to me, intent but terrified, watching carefully to see what the protocol was for a high rolling black jack table. To my relief, it seemed easy enough. The first swept the top of his cards briefly against the felt, and received a card, the second slipped the corner of his cards under his bet, leaving them on the table, and didn’t. I quickly put my cards down, shoving them awkwardly under my chips—cheeks flaming—when the dealer looked at me. Belatedly I noticed that the dealer had a queen. Edward brushed the table lightly, and the dealer threw a nine face up on the table in front of him. I glared at him, as the men beside me murmured appreciatively.

The dealer had a jack, and I lost, as did both Asian gentlemen. He smoothly relieved us of our chips. I heard a subdued commotion coming from the direction of the roulette table, but I was afraid to look. Edward pushed another stack of my chips onto the table, and it began again.

When my chips were gone, Edward passed me half of his, unable to contain his amused smile. He was doing well, winning three times as often as the other men at the table. But, with the size of my bets controlled by him, I was losing chips faster than he could rake them in. I had yet to win a hand. It was humiliating—but at least I was sure to never become a gambling addict.

Finally, I lost our last stack of chips. The Asian gentlemen, and their female escort, watched Edward with impressed curiosity as he could no longer contain his mirth, chuckling quietly, but with deep amusement, while he returned me to the wheel chair. I blushed and kept my eyes on the thick carpet as he pushed me away, still laughing.

"I’m the worst gambler in history," I muttered apologetically.

"Actually, you’re not. That’s what so funny." He laughed again. "You didn’t do one thing wrong, aside from playing a little conservatively. The odds that you would lose every hand…" He shook his head, grinning.

We got to the roulette table just in time to watch Alice lose her spectacular pile of multihued chips in one disastrous spin of the wheel. The many hopeful players who had bet with her on seventeen black looked murderously disappointed. She laughed, a trilling, carefree sound, and joined us.

"Did we lose enough?" I whispered as we exited the gold doors.

"I think the house is satisfied. You’re probably their favorite client today," he snickered.

"Please promise me one thing."

"Anything you want."

"Never, ever tell me how much money I lost today, please."

We were in the noisy casino by this time, and his laugh was unrestrained.

P.s. In Twilight soundtrack-esque related news, I'm a very lucky bunny who gets to interview Stephenie's fave band, Blue October - of Breaking Dawn tear-jerker "My Never" and many others - at their London show this Thursday.

Question suggestions would be very much appreciated as I'm fairly certain I'm going to go all "hospital bed Bella"! :)

NM Screening for Soundtrack Songstress!

So into Twi she's already sporting the rays ;)

Yesterday, we post that Anya Marina's song "Satellite" from the New Moon soundtrack was live on her MySpace.

Today, care of her record label, Chop Shop records, Anya has blogged how she was lucky enough to see a screening of the movie "a few months" ago:

A few months ago, I was asked by Chris Weitz (the director of the new Twilight movie (New Moon) to come in to his office to screen the latest Twilight movie, New Moon. I guess he’d heard my cover of T.I.’s “Whatever You Like” and really liked it. Naturally, I was thrilled. I heard all sorts of my favorite bands were being considered for the soundtrack (Thom Yorke, Death Cab, Grizzly Bear, etc). In fact, on the day of my own private screening, as I walked in, The Killers were making their way out.

oh.

em.

gee.

Suffice it to say, the movie was great and I got really inspired to adapt a new song I’d been working on to suit Bella and Edward and their whole drama. I got together with my friend, producer [and mixer on Slow & Steady...] Ken Andrews, and we recorded a pretty mean version of a new song called “Satellite Heart.”

When I heard that Chris decided not only to include Satellite Heart in my favorite scene in New Moon, but also in the soundtrack, I was–pardon the pun–over the moon. I can’t wait to see it in the movie or for you to hear some of the straight-up sick remixes that’ll be coming out soon, too. For now, stream the song (and check out the lyrics) on MySpace, and then pre-order the soundtrack through iTunes to be able to download ‘Satellite Heart’ instantly.

Enjoy. See you in November!

x

Anya

Yellow Handkerchief screening in Chicago

The Chicago International Film Festival has announced a screening on October 18 of The Yellow Handkerchief and describes it as:

Gorgeous in its visual execution and sublime in its emotional resonance, The Yellow Handkerchief is a timeless story of trust, forgiveness, and love. After serving six years, Brett Hanson (William Hurt) is released from prison with quiet dignity and subtle remorse. Bound for home, but unsure if his wife (Maria Bello) will welcome him, Brett accepts a ride from two wayward teens (Kristen Stewart, Eddie Redmayne). At first, he keeps to himself, but in time he becomes a trusted father figure and begins to slowly reveal the secrets of his troubled past. As Brett watches young love blossom between his two new friends, he is reminded that true love is worth waiting for, and sometimes fate gives you a second chance.

Update: Thanks AshleyTWA via TwiFans for the lyrics:

So pretty, so smart
Such a waste of a young heart!
What a pity, what a sham,
What’s the matter with you, man?

Don’t you see it’s wrong, can’t you get it right?
Out of mind and outta sight.
Call on all your girls, don’t forget the boys,
Put a lid on all that noise!

I’m a satellite heart, lost in the dark.
I’m spun out so far, you stop, I start,
But I’ll be true to you.

I hear you’re living out of state,
Running in a whole new scene.
They say i haven’t slept in weeks,
You’re the only thing I see.

I’m a satellite heart, lost in the dark,
I’m spun out so far, you stop, I start,
But I’ll be true to you.

I’m a satellite heart, lost in the dark,
I’m spun out so far, you stop I start.
But I’ll be true to you no matter what you do,
Yeah I’ll be true to you.

A Thank-You Letter To Rob

Edward-Cullen.Net received the following letter from a very sick fan who wants to thank Rob for signing her New Moon book when she couldn't get to see him as planned.

Many of the Twi-blogs are posting and Tweeting in the hopes that someone will see it who can pass it on to Rob:
Dear Rob,

I recently received the signed New Moon book that you autographed for me in NYC while you were filming Remember Me. The wonderful ladies at the Morgan Stanley Childrens Hospital Fund especially Ms Chris and one of her friends spent alot of their own personal time and effort in getting this for me after contacting Ms C from Remember Me. I will always be truly grateful to them for this gift.

I can't thank you enough for taking the time out of your busy life and schedule to sign this for me. It means more to me than you will ever truly know.

I am not sure how much you were told of me, but my name is Ms. MS and I am nearly 24 years old. I have a very rare lung disorder that causes my lungs to collapse at times witout any notice, and from the damage done to my lungs it has left me on oxygen nearly 24 hours a day. I can only take it off about 1 hour a day and a large percentage of my time is spent in a wheelchair as I can only walk short distances. They tell me my only other option is a lung transplant, scary right? This is a decision that I will have to make at some point but they tell me it will only give me an extra 5 - 7 years and well I just dont know. Anyway these are the breaks that life sometimes gives you.

You see I was lucky enough to win the Morgan Stanley Childrens Hospital raffle. They have looked after me since I was 16 years old which is when I first got sick. Anyway, one of the prizes I won was based around your favorite film and movie stars.

My wish was to try and either meet some of the Twilight stars especially you or go to one of your movie premieres.

Ms Chris from Morgan Stanley was trying to organize for me to come and meet you on the set of Remember Me in NYC this summer. I live in VB, but due to the timing, having to get everything worked out and the time to get clearance from your producers it was not meant to be.

I still am most grateful for the signed book from you. I will forever cherish your kind words as it gave some hope and that maybe one day things will work out for me too.

I also wanted to tell you that Peter Facinelli (Dr Carlisle from the Twilight series ) was at my local mall here in VB a few weeks ago as part of a Red Cross Blood Drive. How lucky was that right?

I got all dressed up made an effort and got my best friend to take me down to the mall wheelchair/oxygen and all . I waited for a few hours in order to see him and what a nice person he is even though he had been signing autographs for hours.

I had the pleasure of meeting him, taking a photo with him, and getting his autograph. I took my oxygen off and walked up to take the photo and I was shaking from my nerves I am sure he wondered what was wrong with me? :).

I wanted to give him this letter and ask him to give it to you but I felt a little embarrassed and he was very busy. There were hundreds and hundreds of people lined up waiting to meet him.

I love how you both are so dedicated to your work and your fans. I have attached a picture of the book you signed for me in the summer and also the picture of Peter so you know that this letter is really the truth.

I would appreciate if you could acknowledge that you received this if by chance it actually gets to you .

You seem like such a nice person and I wish you all the best in life.
Again I can't say thank you enough.

With Love,
Ms. MS
